EVANSTON, Ill. -- After missing all of last season following shoulder surgery, Vic Law has returned like someone looking to make up for lost time.Law scored a career-high 26 points -- his second straight game establishing a new mark -- to lead Northwestern to an 86-72 victory over Eastern Washington Monday night in a Legends Classic opening-round game.Law, who had 19 points in the season opener, was 7-for-13 from the field.I just thought he played with great confidence, coach Chris Collins said. I really liked how he attacked the basket.Law, a 6-7 redshirt sophomore, was expected to be one of the Wildcats top players this season, though Collins wasnt sure what to expect at the start.I know hes really good, but I was a little apprehensive, the coach said. Its not easy sitting out a year and jumping right back in.Bryant McIntosh had 18 points and Scottie Lindsey and Dererk Pardon each added 12 as Northwestern improved to 2-0.Bogdan Bliznyuk led Eastern Washington (1-1) with 25 points on 10-for-18 shooting. He had 20 points on 8-for-13 shooting in the first half.Jacob Wiley added 19 points on 8-for-11 shooting for the Eagles.Bliznyuk had four points and took only three shots in the season-opening win over Division III Linfield.Northwestern quickly jumped out to a 15-point lead (24-9) less than nine minutes into the game and it appeared a second straight blow out was in order following the 94-63 opening win over Mississippi Valley State. But Eastern fought back and pulled within 42-36 in the final minute of the first half. The Eagles were within six points (53-47) early in the second half, but that was as close as they would get -- although Northwestern never was able to open a comfortable margin.Im really pleased with how we played, Eastern coach Jim Hayford said. I wish we could have played the first 10 minutes like we played the last 30 minutes. We definitely leave here with great respect for Northwestern, and I think we earned some respect from them as well.SHARP SHOOTINGAfter going 1-for-7 from the free-throw line in the opener, Law was 9-for-10 on Monday.I think the first game I missed all the free throws so I could set a new career high tonight, he said jokingly.BIG PICTUREEWU: The Eagles were picked to finish fifth in the Big Sky in a preseason poll of media covering the conference following last season 18-16 finish. If nothing else, this is a scrappy bunch that played physical on both ends and refused to quit after falling behind early on the road against a Power 5 conference team.Northwestern: Although the season is only two games old, Law clearly has emerged as the Wildcats best player. The redshirt sophomore, who missed all of last season following shoulder surgery, has the versatile game and athleticism to be a threat every night.UP NEXTEastern Washington plays at Texas on Thursday in a game thats also a part of the Legends Classic.Following a pair of home wins, Northwestern plays its first road game Wednesday at Butler.Cheap Adidas Shoes . HOUSTON -- With one more loss on what initially appeared to be a fortuitously scheduled and perfectly timed homestand, the Astros inched closer to elimination from the postseason and the realization of a golden opportunity squandered. With their 4-3, extra-inning setback, the Astros (82-75) dropped to 1-4 on their seven-game homestand against the Angels and Mariners (83-73), who moved 1 1/2 games ahead of the Astros in the American League wild-card race and two games behind the idle Orioles (85-71) for the second available slot. Houston capped a 5-1 road trip through Seattle and Oakland before returning home with high hopes.Obviously, we came off of a really hot road trip feeling pretty good, Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. Weve played extra innings games, weve played really close games, and they havent gone our way. Thats the way the games go sometimes. Its not as if were out there not giving our best or not coming prepared -- were just not executing at the most critical times. But were going to keep fighting these last five games and see where it takes us, but certainly, its disappointing.Right-hander Mike Fiers (11-8, 4.50 ERA) will make his third start of the season and fourth of his career against Seattle on Tuesday. He has allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over 9 1/3 innings against Seattle in 2016, going 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA. Fiers is 1-0 with a 4.20 ERA in his career against them.Mariners right-hander Felix Hernandez (11-6, 3.61 ERA) will make his 24th start of the season on Tuesday night. Hernandez did not factor in the decision in his previous outing despite tossing seven shutout innings on Sept. 21 against Toronto.Hernandez is 3-4 with a 4.07 ERA in nine career starts against the Astros including five starts at Minute Maid Park where he has posted a 2-2 record and 5.40 ERA. In his lone start against Houston this season, Hernandez took the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on nine hits and three walks over 4 1/3 innings on Sept. 16.Unlike the Astros, who dropped 3 1/2 games behind the Orioles with five to play, the Mariners remain optimistic that a series win in Houston and a season-ending homestand against the Athletics just might yield their first postseason berth since 2001.Weve got a chance, Mariners manager Scott Servais said. Thats what weve been playing for and the guys, you can feel it, they really believe. Big game (Tuesday) night. Weve got to keep taking care of business here and hopefully get home for the weekend and still have a chance there. Ive been saying it for a month and a half, its a game at a time and all that other good stuff. These guys believe it. They know whats on the line every night. Weve got to have a little bit better at-bats. Thats probably the most disappointing thing tonight, the strikeout number (16). Federer had trouble handling Brands serve and big forehands on the clay surface in the thin mountain air. The German right-hander won 6-3, 6-4 in just 65 minutes. "I wasnt consistent enough in the end," said Federer, who failed on five break-point chances. "He was serving well and I couldnt do enough with my return." The 31-year-old Swiss star has now lost to players ranked Nos. 116, 114 and 55 in the past month at Wimbledon; Hamburg, Germany and now in front of his home fans. Federers own ranking of No. 5 is his lowest in a decade since he started his run of 17 Grand Slam singles titles at Wimbledon in 2003. Federer saved a first match point by serving an ace when trailing 5-3, and a second in the next game with a forehand winner. Brands, who took a set off Federer in a second-round loss at Hamburg when they first played on tour, then clinched victory with a service winner. "For sure the altitude has helped me," Brands said. "I served well and put pressure on him from the very beginning." Defeat spoiled Federers return to Gstaad for the first time since he won the title in 2004 — and where he debuted on the ATP Tour in 1998 as a 17-year-old ranked No. 702. Federer only came to Gstaad and Hamburg seeking extra matches after his second-round exit at Wimbledon to Sergiy Stakhovsky of Ukraine. After a three-week break, Federer returnedd in Hamburg testing a new, bigger racket but was slowed by a back injury and lost in the semifinals to left-hander Federico Delbonis of Argentina.dddddddddddd "Im happy that I was able to play because Ive had problems for some time now, already in Hamburg," Federer said. "But it didnt get worse during todays match." Still, Brands extended the streak of surprise losses, breaking Federers service to lead 4-2 in the opening set when he put away a simple overhead shot at the net. The 26-year-old German fired down 11 aces in the match, including two to close out the first set. Federer immediately lost serve in the second by netting a backhand volley, and had to save three break-point chances to avoid trailing 3-0. Federer rarely loses his opening match at a tournament: Thursdays defeat ranks alongside his round-of-64 exit in straight sets at Indian Wells, California, in March 2007 to Guillermo Canas of Argentina, then ranked No. 60. Federer is scheduled to return next month at the Montreal Masters, and then defend his Cincinnati Masters title before the U.S. Open begins Aug. 26. Third-seeded Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia was also eliminated in straight sets Thursday, piling up the unforced errors, including six double faults, to lose to Robin Haase of the Netherlands 6-2, 6-2. Two former Swiss Open champions advanced to the quarterfinals. Marcel Granollers of Spain, the 2011 winner, beat Federico Delbonis of Argentina 6-2, 7-5, and 2008 champion Victor Hanescu of Romania led Roberto Bautista 7-6 (2), 3-2 when the Spaniard retired with a back injury. ones about trying to slow India do

Something about the city of Boston has always fascinated Erick Colin Mena, a 36-year-old born and raised in Mexico City, so he began following the Patriots. During the NFL Fan Fest over the weekend, he wore a sweatshirt that read: I might live in Mexico, but my team is in New England.Mario Hernandes, 26, was decked out in a full-on Raiders costume, mask and everything. His mom gifted him a Raiders-themed backpack at age 17, and ever since then hes been hooked. A similar thing happened to Jose Antonio Bohon, a 50-year-old who watched Fran Tarkenton as a kid, believed him to be ahead of his time and is now as big of a Vikings fan as you will ever meet. Then there is Josue Alvarez, 22, who first began following the Packers because he really, really likes cheese -- seriously. Alvarez, of course, was wearing a foam cheesehead hat.The Houston Texans and the Oakland Raiders are about to play the first Monday Night Football game outside of the United States at the distinctive Azteca Stadium, a highly anticipated matchup that will be contested in front of a sellout crowd and will prompt millions of others throughout Mexico to watch from home.In the days leading up to it, tens of thousands of fans came through the NFL Fan Fest at Chapultepec Park, displaying their adoration for American football in their outfits. The passion runs deep. -- Alden GonzalezRaul Parrales, 37, son Raul Jr., 8, and daughter Sofi, 5, Oakland Raiders fans from Estado de MexicoI am a lifetime fan, and when my son told me that he wanted to play football, we discovered that the closest team to our house was [called] the Raiders, [so] he became a Raiders fan since then. Playing his first Test in a year and a half, Bhuvneshwar swung through the West Indies side with a spell of 11.4-6-16-5 as West Indies went from 202 for 3 to 225 all out. With 98 overs to go in the match and a lead of 285 in the bag, India could think of declaring soon on the fifth morning. They made a good start to the endeavour, scoring 157 for 3 in the 39 overs they got on day four, a rate well higher than the 2.48 an over in the first two innings.Bhuvneshwar, and for that matter Ravindra Jadeja, is not Virat Kohlis first choice. He prefers Umesh Yadavs pace and Amit Mishras legspin. Post lunch on day four, with West Indies going fairly well in their quest to ensure they dont lose this Test, it was Bhuvneshwar and Jadeja who turned the match around with the second new ball.Theres a reason why Bhuvneshwar was Kohlis last resort. He bowled the entire match-changing spell without a fine leg. No fine leg, no long leg, no backward square leg. No man behind square on the leg side. Kohli prefers his wickets with batsmen fending at express quicks. It was a sign that the young captain is not stubborn in that he first selected Bhuvneshwar and then gave him the field that works with his bowling. Bhuvneshwar was about to show him the other way of taking wickets.Kohli had taken the new ball as soon as it became available just before lunch despite the struggles of Jermaine Blackwood and Marlon Samuels against the turning old ball. It was a session in which an India bowler took a wicket for the first time in 528 legal deliveries. If the last wicket off a bowler shouldnt have been given out - Shane Dowrich on the last day in Jamaica - the legality of this 528th delivery was in doubt. It was an Ishant Sharma bouncer that Darren Bravo top-edged after taking his eyes off, but Ishant didnt quite seem to have a part of his foot behind the crease. It wasnt an obvious no-ball, though, and after multiple replays the third umpire ruled in favour of the bowler, perhaps acting on the new ICC directive to grant the benefit of doubt to the bowler. R Ashwin went on to get the other overnight batsman, Kraigg Brathwaite, and the two spinners had Samuels and Blackwood uncomfortable. Kohli took the new ball and handed it over to Bhuvneshwar. The batsmen had added 59 before lunch, they can both punish errors in line, but through the spell Bhuvneshwar conceded only two shots to fine leg. Blackwood was the first one to go, having faced 15 straight dots from Bhuvneshwar, who bowled a length fuller than he did with the first new ball. The 16th was an outswinger that Blackwood, who loves bat on ball, couldnt resist. Kohli took one of the more predictable edgess at second slip.ddddddddddddt took less persistence to set Samuels, 48, up. With Blackwood facing the Bhuvneshwar swing almost exclusively, it was only during the 10th over with the new ball that Samuels was presented to Bhuvneshwar. This time Bhuvneshwar was in no mood for slow cooking. Four outswingers later, he went wide on the crease, slipped in an inswinger, and Samuels, surprised by it all, played on.Kohli brought Jadeja on at the other end, and he kept creating trouble with the ones that went straight on. The one that turned, though, got the man who had denied India in Jamaica, Roston Chase. Bhuvneshwars masterclass continued at the other end. Jason Holder was caught on the back foot by one that angled in, and Alzarri Joseph followed a straight ball outside off. With a remarkable five-for in sight, Bhuvneshwars persistence was thoroughly tested by his fielders. There were signs he was tiring - the second ball of the 10th over was short and pulled for four, reducing the spell analysis to 9.2-6-11-4 - but he still produced the edge from Shane Dowrich. KL Rahul dropped his second chance of the match at third slip, but it took the third umpire to ascertain it that he had grassed it. In his next over, Bhuvneshwar was offered what should have been his through an ill-advised pull from Dowrich. Rohit Sharma, though, dropped a relatively easy catch at midwicket; he suggested he had lost the ball in the sun. Later in that over Bhuvneshwar was denied a pretty straightforward lbw by the umpire; Miguel Cummins was the beneficiary this time.A change in bowling at the other end worked. R Ashwin ended this frustrating 6.5-over partnership, and Bhuvneshwar bowled another over to complete his third Test five-for. This was one of his least impressive wickets; in this over he had even conceded a boundary to fine leg. Two balls later Dowrich saw one short and wide, edged the cut, and this time Shikhar Dhawan nearly dropped it at first slip. Dhawan took the rebound, drawing hardly a reaction from Bhuvneshwar.India had wasted about 40 minutes through some ordinary fielding, but the first culprit, Rahul, went about making up for that time in earnest. His 28 off 24 gave India a run rate of higher than six, but with the subsequent fall of Kohli and Dhawan meant Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma had to be cautious at the start of their partnership. They scored only 16 in the first nine overs of their stand as West Indies made no bones about trying to slow India down through containment and not wickets. Roston Chase and Kraigg Brathwaite bowled 19 overs between them after the pace bowlers had travelled.Rahane and Rohit made up for the slow start, ending the day with 51 off 93 and 41 off 57, but the time wasted through dropped catches and the mid-innings slowdown could just end up costing India a five-six over burst with the second new ball on day five. Dewi Morris Whether that is changing Rhys Priestland for Dan Biggar to play a more attacking game rather than a kicking game remains to be seen.Wales are off to New Zealand and if they go there with their Six Nations attitude they will be stopped and squashed. They are going to have to play some more exciting rugby.Wales have plenty of capabilities and they have the firepower but they just cant seem to bring it all together.Ireland CJ Stander has made an impressive start to his international career Ireland showed against Scotland what a good structure they have and what a good attacking side they are. They have had a few blips but Joe Schmidt is a very, very good coach and I still think he can get a lot more out of Ireland. We have seen some excellent players come to the fore like Jack McGrath and CJ Stander, who I thought was superb this tournament. The more they play the better they will grow.Ireland have a long injury list including Peter OMahony, Sean OBrien and Iain Henderson. Once they return there will be the depth and potential to grow this team.Scotland Stuart Hogg is world cllass, says Dewi They have individual talent but there is a real lack of collective togetherness.ddddddddddddThey seem to be able to win more than their fair share of the ball but cant seem to make it count.Scotland showed some really great aspects to their game - they have a tremendous back row and I thought John Hardie really stuck his hand up.The Gray brothers were outstanding too and Stuart Hogg is one of those players who you just love to watch with ball in hand. There is not that many world class players in the northern hemisphere but Hogg is one of them. Six Nations review Englands Grand Slam success only the start, says Stuart Barnes Scotland also have two very good props in WP Nel and Alasdair Dickinson. They are off to Japan in the summer and I think that is a good tour for them to build some confidence. This is a squad that needs to get more time under their belt.Vern Cotter is an excellent coach and the more time he spends with them the better they will get.France Guy Noves has endured a difficult start to his reign as France head coach There is so much talent in France but they are in pieces at the moment. They played more rugby in the first half against England than they did all tournament.I love the Top 14 but it is killing French rugby. The clubs have more power than the federation and the players are getting flogged. You cant start a season in mid-August and finish it in mid-June and try to get your international players ready for Test matches.Asking if Guy Noves is the right or wrong man for the job is immaterial because no matter who takes over, the problem is the same - their hands are tied. A number of France internationals will be unavailable for their June tour of Argentina due to club commitments France need the clubs to give their international players time off and time together so that they can properly prepare for the Six Nations and tours. This seasons Top 14 final is on June 24 - France will already be on tour in Argentina with the first Test being played on June 18 and the second on June 25. Its a complete mess!Everyone loves to stick the knife into Rob Andrew but he was the main instigator in getting the RFU and the Premiership clubs to sit down and settle the dispute between club and country. England now have more time than ever with their players and you can see the result of that.Italy Sergio Parisse was again outstanding for Italy during a dire Six Nations campaign If Conor OShea is taking over then he has a heck of a job to do. I think if one person can do it then it is him. This campaign has been really difficult for them and they have suffered from a lot of injuries which has certainly hindered them. There has been a lot of talk about Italy deserving their place in the Six Nations, especially with the likes of Georgia and Romania improving on a yearly basis and desperate for a regular shot at the big boys.I think Italy need an injection of new coaching ideas and some new talent - they certainly do have some wonderful players but they lack depth.Sergio Parisse once again has been wonderful for them but how long can he keep going? I think the next few years will be crucial for their development.Do you agree with Dewi? Have your say by giving us your comments below if viewing on skysports.com. The Toronto Maple Leafs surprised many by making the Stanley Cup playoffs this season. They have also impressed many more with their efforts against Boston in the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series that now stands at 3-2 in favour of the Bruins, after Torontos 2-1 victory in Game 5 on Friday. One of those who has been impressed is Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky spoke with TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com on Saturday and offered his thoughts on the Maple Leafs, the team he watched growing up in Brantford, Ontario. "Theyre up against a really good opponent, a team thats just two years removed from winning the Cup, but any time you can win a Game 5 in that situation against a team of that caliber, obviously youve got character and it builds even more character," Gretzky told LeBrun. "Theyre legit. Theyre playing on high-emotion right now." Gretzky was quick to point out that much of the credit for the Leafs play of late should go to head coach Randy Carlyle and his system. "Its about believing in your system. The system starts with the head coach," added Gretzky. "Hes got tremendous credibility after winning a Stanley Cup himself [2007 in Anaheim]. Its not a question of players saying, Are we sure he knows what hes doing? Because theyre absolutely positive he knows what hes doing. The credibility starts right there with the coach." Gretzky also singled out goaltender James Reimer for his play throughout the season and into the post-season. "There was so much talk throughout the hockey world wondering if their goaltending was strong enough to get through the season and get into the playoffs," Gretzky told LeBrun. "I think their goaltender has answered that question extremely well." Win or lose, Gretzky feels this series will go a long way to improving the long-term outlook of the Leafs, a team that had not made the playoffs in nine years before this season. "You know, theyre still young and theyre still learning," said Gretzky. "This is how you learn, by getting a chance to play in big games like this. Game 5 in Boston was probably one of the biggest games those kids have played in for a long time. From that point of view, its just going to help their maturity and their growth a lot quicker. The Maple Leafs host the Bruins in Game 6 on Sunday night. Should they win to force a seventh game, it would be played back in Boston on Monday night.Wholesale Shoes Uk . No. 13-seeded John Isner and No. 21 Philipp Kohlschreiber were among six players who dropped out of the tournament on Tuesday, joining No. 12 seed Tommy Haas and two other players who withdrew on Monday.A day after the unbeaten Songbird breezed to a seven-length victory in the Grade 1 Alabama Stakes as an odds-on 2-5 favorite, Saratoga Race Course lived up to its reputation as the Graveyard of Favorites. The grand dame of American racetracks was as unfathomable as ever on Aug. 21 as the 11-race card produced not one but two six-figure sensational scores. There was surely no indication of what was to come when the favored Born for a Storm ($4.30) took the opening race of the day for leading trainer Chad Brown.Ditto after the second race when second choice Price too High ($7.50) prevailed. But then the madness began. What might have seemed like a bad dream to most proved to be the key to riches for some when Bold Illusion notched an improbable victory at 53-1 odds in the third race. The fact that the 4-year-old gelding was 0-for-10 with nothing better than a third and had been closer than 8-1/2-lengths at the finish of just one of those races best explain why he paid an astronomical $109.50 to win.If youre wondering what happened after that, lets just say that Bold Illusion triggered a $1,881 Pick 3 with a favorite and second-choice. Yes, a sensational score was brewing.Helping to stoke the fire was Security Risk ($19.80), who captured the fourth race for Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey. That victory capped an $8,005 Pick 3 and a $1,271 double for $2.With a string of six-figure Pick 5 payoffs in place, hockey fans had a leg up on the competition in the final race in the sequence.Chelios ($15) skated into the winners circle in the fifth, putting some rather big, bright numbers on the Saratoga tote board. The Pick 3? You collected $13,516 for $2.The Pick 4? If you hit it, you were $169,947 richer for each $2 wager. The Pick 5? How does an amazing $386,401 sound? Pretty sensational, eh?That wasnt the only monstrous payoff of the week at the Spa as the second race superfecta on Aug. 18 saw 17-1 shot Marble Fallls ($36.dddddddddddd0) lead the charge to the wire. He was followed by Chubby Master at 4-1, Norm the Giant at 16-1 and finally the very sweet Sound of Freedom at 74-1 to account for a superfecta that checked in at a robust $62,248 for a $2 wager. Not to be outdone, on the West Coast Del Mar had its six-figure day in the sun last week.On Aug. 18, there was a carryover of $66,808 in the Pick 6 and it seemed another was in the making when the first two races were won by Cee the Preacher ($24.60) and Ring Collector ($23), who formed a $253.60 double. But after that, the sequence became much more routine. Wins by second choice Do the Dance ($8.20) and then Olotta Shaken ($13.20) set the stage for wins by the favored Danas Best ($5.60) and Youre the Reason ($5) to close out the Pick 6.Yet even with the help of two favorites in the final legs, there was only one holder of a winning $2 Pick Six ticket that was worth a whopping $290,848.Despite all the longshots at Saratoga, the weeks How did you come up with that one? award was presented at Gulfstream Park on Aug. 21.The 11th race that day was a $12,5000 maiden claimer on the turf and if you didnt like the chances of Star Mily, you were not alone. She was 0-for-13 and in her last two races she was eighth and ninth, beaten by a combined total of 21 lengths. But apparently the 14th time was the charm as Star Mily pressed the pace from second then surged to the front in the final furlong and held on for a half-length win. Overlooked in the wagering, she went off at 80-1 odds and paid a weeks-best $162.80 for a $2 win ticket. She also capped a Pick 4 that paid $13,524.50 for a 50-cent and gave Gulfstream Park the same feel as Saratoga on a Sunday that was quite unkind to favorites. For more stories like this check out Americas Best Racing. INDIANAPOLIS -- David Efianayi scored a career-high 31 points and Gardner-Webb defeated Howard 94-78 in the consolation game of the 2K Classic subregional on Saturday.Efianayi hit 10 of 13 shots as the Bulldogs (1-3) shot 58 percent. Laquincy Rideau was 8 of 13 for 19 points. Both made 3 of 4 on 3-pointers as Gardner-Webb made 10 of 12 behind the arc. Efianayi also made 8 of 10 from the foul line, although the Bulldogs were just 12 of 21 on free throws.James Miller had three baskets behind the arc and scored 25 points for Howard (0-4) with Solomon Mangham adding 19 points and Damon Collins 18. The catch: It needs a lot of money, and it needs it fast.Much of the hockey world has been keenly eyeing July 1, which officially kicks off the free-agent signing period. That is when weeks of hot-stove speculation finally give way to actual player movement. But NHL executives also had June 27 marked on their calendars, the deadline to tender qualifying offers to restricted free agents. The passing of this years deadline didnt result in too many shocking moments. However, it did add a few intriguing names to a pool of free agents that suddenly became just a little more interesting. After not receiving a qualifying offer by Monday, here are three newly minted unrestricted free agents who could gain the attention of NHL general managers.Justin Schultz, 25: Fresh off a Stanley Cup run in which he contributed four assists in 15 playoff games for the Pittsburgh Penguins, this wont be Schultzs first brush with free agency. The mobile defenseman failed to sign with the Anaheim Ducks after they drafted him in the second round of the 2008 draft before signing in 2012, and ultimately struggling, with the Edmonton Oilers. But having earned valuable playoff experience with the Penguins and discovering a new role as a depth defenseman, the University of Wisconsin product could open a new chapter in what was a frustrating NHL career before he was dealt at the trade deadline. He posted back-to-back 30-point seasons in Edmonton and should be an asset to any coach who can harness his point production while building his defensive game.Devante Smith-Pelly, 24: Smith-Pelly truly emerged this season with the New Jersey Devils, scoring eight goals and 13 points in 18 games after being dealt at the deadline by the Montreal Canadiens. So it came as a ssurprise when the Devils didnt tender an offer for a player who appeared to finally be finding his stride as an NHL-caliber power forward.dddddddddddd Still, that successful six-week stint with the Devils might have earned him a few free-agent options. The real issue for Smith-Pelly as he ventures into the murky waters of unrestricted free agency for the first time could be the term of his next contract. Having played on three teams in the past two seasons, hed surely like to find a team willing to commit to him for the next few seasons. It remains to be seen if one month of strong play as a top-six forward on a non-playoff team can earn him those years. But 214-pound players who provide a disruptive net-front presence arent easy to find, so Smith-Pelly could be on the radar of several teams.Brandon Pirri, 25: Pirri appeared to be on his way after a breakout 2014-15 season in which he scored 22 goals in 49 games for the Florida Panthers. But injuries and a late-season trade to the Anaheim Ducks stalled his development. Unable to round out his overall game, Pirri is now a free agent. But in the short time he has appeared in the NHL, Pirri has established himself as a capable goal scorer. In fact, his goal rate per 60 minutes over the past three seasons compares favorably with the likes of Wayne Simmonds, Jamie Benn, Evgeni Malkin and Brad Marchand. No one in their right mind is going to compare Pirri to any of those stars, but teams are always in search of scoring, meaning the Toronto native should get an opportunity to catch on somewhere new. The Vikings, Eagles and Broncos are the only remaining unbeatens.I think they like to compete. I think they like to go out there and prove to everybody that they can be talked about with other good teams in this league, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said.Beckham, who has yet to score this season, was smothered by cornerback Xavier Rhodes and had a career-low 23 yards on three catches. Its not a one-on-one game. Its 11-on-11, and we got beat 11-on-11 today, Beckham said.Victor Cruz and Sterling Shepard were quiet, too, and Manning was erratic as ever while finishing 25 for 45 for just 261 yards. Rhodes picked him off in the third quarter , the 15th interception for Manning in eight career starts against the Vikings. Hes 2-6 with only five touchdown passes.Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon each ran for a touchdown as the Vikings rushed for a season-high 104 yards to strike their best balance of the season as they continue to craft a post-Adrian Peterson strategy without their injured veteran running back. Bradford went 26 for 36 for 262 yards, thriving with quick-release throws behind an offensive line that protected better than it had in any of the previous three games.I didnt get hit, hardly at all, Bradford said. The game ball should go to those guys. The Vikings, who have allowed only 50 points in four games and rank second in the league in that category, have an NFL-best turnover margin of plus-10. The Giants (2-2) dropped to minus-8 for the season, including a muffed punt in the first quarter by Dwayne Harris that was forced by Vikings wide receiver Cordarelle Patterson in his new role on the coverage team.A good team on the road, especially this team, you cant give them two possessions, Giants coach Ben McAdoo said. The message is getting through. I just think we need to take care of the ball.RUDOLPHRudolphhs wife, Jordan, was scheduled to give birth to twins by induction on Tuesday morning.dddddddddddd He joked he wanted a second touchdown catch, one for each of his soon-arriving children. Bradford might as well be their godfather with the way hes connected with his sure-handed tight end.We kind of had a bond early, Bradford said, adding: Hes just such a big target.MONDAYS WITH MOSSFormer Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss, at the game as an analyst for ESPN, blew the ceremonial Gjallarhorn prior to kickoff to get the crowd going early. Fifteen years ago, Moss caught three touchdown passes on a Monday night game as the Vikings beat the Giants 28-16.This is a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful place, Beckham said. The atmosphere they created, I love it. You live for it, you thrive in it, and tonight we didnt have that opportunity.STRUGGLING SECONDARYThe Giants defensive backs are so depleted by injuries that wide receivers were playing safety in practice this week. Andrew Adams, promoted from the practice squad last week, started at safety for Nat Berhe. Trevin Wade had trouble all game, starting at cornerback for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Wade was beaten by Charles Johnson for receptions of 30 and 40 yards, had a pass interference penalty on Rudolph and got away with one on an early incompletion to Adam Thielen.WALSH, WIDE LEFTBlair Walshs 46-yard field goal attempt failed early in the third quarter, already his fifth miss (three field goals, two extra points) of the season. The interception by Rhodes gave him the chance to make a 44-yarder less than 3 1/2 minutes later.INJURY UPDATEGiants TE Larry Donnell (concussion) was blown off his feet in the second quarter by blitzing Vikings LB Anthony Barr and quickly ruled out for the rest of the game. OAKLAND, Calif. -- Madison Bumgarner will get to hit for himself -- even in an American League park.San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy says he plans to use his slugging pitcher instead of a designated hitter Thursday night when the Giants visit the Oakland Athletics. It will be the first time a team intentionally used a pitcher to hit instead of a DH since the Chicago White Sox allowed Ken Brett to do it in 1976 -- the Rays were forced to bat pitcher Andy Sonnanstine in 2009 because of a lineup card mix-up.Bumgarner is batting .175 this season with two homers and five RBI in 40 at-bats. He has nine homers in 183 at-bats the past three seasons, a rate that would lead to about 36 home runs if he had a full season as a hitter. Ninth-seeded PV Sindhu produced a performance of skill, maturity and composure in beating the World No.2 and 2012 silver-medallist Wang Yihan of China 22-20, 21-19 in a pulsating quarterfinal in Rio on Tuesday. Sindhu is now one win away from a medal in her maiden Olympics appearance. The first game was characterised by long rallies, with both players making the other move all around the court, but Yihan had sped away to a 3-0 lead before Sindhu could lodge her first point.Sindhu, though, never let her opponent out of sight, leveling the score at 5-5, and then coming back from 8-12 at one stage to draw level at 13-13. Faced with a 15-17 deficit soon after having taken the lead for the first time at 15-14, she produced two smashes low to either side of Yihan to level the score at 17-17, before bringing up her first game points at 20-18.Yihan was able to save two of them -- the second producing 46 shots in 45 seconds between the two -- but then Sindhu closed out the first game 22-20 in 29 minutes. She showed very good attitude and it is good to see her perform at this stage. Of course there are chances of improvement in terms of a couple of areas, but I think undeniably the way she fought and pulled the strategy through was very good Sindhus coach Pullela Gopichand said.?Sindhu started the second game in an aggressive manner, smashing straight towards Yihans body. Up 4-2, she produced the point of the match when she retrieved the shuttle bending low to her forehand and then recovering in time to produce a firm backhand return that Yihan could only sink into the net.Sindhu consistently kept a gap between herself and Yihan -- up to five points at one stage -- and was exceptional with her play around the net in particular. Yihan tried to counter Sindhus positivity with some aggression of her own, but was never able to bridge the gap between herself and the 21-year-old Indian to anything less than two points.Sindhu was in sight of wrapping the game up at 18-13 before a forehand flick of hers went well wide, and Yihan took full toll to pick up the next four points to draw level for the first time in 34 points. Taking the lead for the first time at 19-18, Yihan was surprised with Sindhus swift return of her serve, which enforced an error out of the Chinese. Sindhu closed out the match with two assured points to take the second game 21-19 in 24 minutes.Sindhu had a good lead in the second but Wang Yihan did well to cover that up but in the end and I think Sindhu stayed calmer and she was resilient enough to finish it up. To feel confident about her defence and then do it at the big points is what made the difference. In my book she can do a notch higher but what we saw today was fantastic Gopichand said.?Yihans head-to-head going into this match against Sindhu was 4-2 in her favour, though Sindhu had defeated her 21-18, 21-19 in their last meeting, at the Denmark Open in October 2015.Yihan had defeated Saina Nehwal in the semifinals of the London Olympics four years ago, before losing to compatriot Li Xuerui in the gold medal match.Sindhu will now face Nozomi Okuhara of Japan. A win against her will open Indias Rio account - even a defeat will give Sindhu a chance to fight for the bronze - but Sindhu herself was grounded.?All I can say is that Ill give my best. I hope theres more to come, she said. It was tough today, against the World No.2. She played well in both games, especially the second to tie the scores at 18-18. I cant say that I got lucky with the win, since she also played brilliantly.?Ive played Yihan many times before, winning some, and losing some. I just try to give my best on the day, because its always a tough game. The first semifinal on Thursday will feature Carolina Marin of Spain and Xuerui, following which Sindhu will play her semifinal against World No. 6 Nozomi Okuhara from Japan at 5:50 pm IST.Indias Kidambi Srikanth is scheduled to play his mens singles quarterfinal against World No. 3 Lin Dan of China on Wednesday at 5:50 pm IST.Cheap Orlando Cepeda Jersey . How great will be revealed in the next couple of days at the board of governors meeting in Pebble Beach, Calif.LINCOLN, Neb. -- Creightons 90-points-a-game offense didnt show up until late against Nebraska. No problem. The 10th-ranked Bluejays were still more than good enough to beat their in-state rival again.Maurice Watson Jr. scored a season-high 25 points, Cole Huff added 13 and Creighton dominated the second half in a 77-62 victory Wednesday night. We had to win kind of an ugly game, and they were trying to make us play that way, Bluejays coach Greg McDermott said. Thats probably the fewest fast-break points weve had all season. I like to think our pace wears you out over time, and we had a hard time with it.The Bluejays (9-0) have won 15 of 18 meetings with the Cornhuskers (5-4), including the last six by double digits.Tai Webster had 16 points and Ed Morrow had 13 rebounds for the Huskers, who trailed 31-30 at halftime but went scoreless for 6 1/2 minutes in the second half. Creighton bolted to a 51-37 lead, and in the last 3 minutes it was a 21-point game.It makes me disappointed and sick to my stomach we couldnt foster a better fight, Huskers coach Tim Miles said. I thought we were in good shape until Tai picked up his fourth foul, and then we went on a long, long drought.Watson carried the scoring load in the Bluejays first true road game as Nebraska clamped down on Marcus Foster and Justin Patton. Foster had seven points and Patton had nine, both season lows. The Cornhuskers defense left driving lanes open for Watson, and the senior point guard took advantage. He made 10 of 20 shots. Hes never taken more than 21 shots in his career. My teammates kept saying for me to go, go go, and I kind of got comfortable, Watson said. The Huskers shot 32.4 percent overall and were just 3 of 22 on 3-point attempts. We took too many of them, Webster said. Like Coach Milees says: `Love the 2, like the 3.ddddddddddddThats when were at our best.Creightons Toby Hegner dunked with 3 1/2 minutes left, prompting the small contingent of Bluejays fans to chant C-U, C-U as the Nebraska faithful began heading to the exits. Big Red fans who remained booed Davion Mintzs fast-break dunk in the final seconds. The victory allowed Creighton to tie the all-time series 25-25.THE BIG PICTURECreighton: The Bluejays first road trip was a bumpy ride. The flow was choppy, and they couldnt get moving at the speed they like until after the game was decided.Nebraska: The Huskers are not a good offensive team to begin with, and they were worse than that against the Bluejays. You cant be that inept on offense and expect to win, Miles said.PATTON KEPT IN CHECKPatton, the Bluejays 7-foot redshirt freshman, was held under 10 points for the first time in nine games. He did have eight rebounds, three blocked shots and a steal. Its his first time playing in front of a crowd totally against us, and hell learn from it, McDermott said.HE SAID ITIf this doesnt hurt you, nothing does. If youre (home) tonight in another 20 minutes and playing video games until 1 a.m., you dont really care. Youve got to hate losing. Weve got teach them how to win, too. -- Miles.POLL IMPLICATIONSCreighton is No. 10 for the second straight week and is in no danger of dropping in the Top 25 after a convincing win over Nebraska and a near gimme at home on Friday against Longwood.UP NEXTCreighton hosts Longwood on Friday.Nebraska visits No. 3 Kansas on Saturday.---More AP college basketball: www.collegebasketball.ap.org and https://twitter.com/AP-Top25 . Earlier, he had finished eighth among eight finalists in the 10m air pistol event. The president of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), Raninder Singh, cut a lonely figure at the end of the competition. He had started the Games talking up the chances of Indias shooters, convinced that this would be the countrys best-ever medal haul. However, with most of the contingent having completed their events, the spectre of returning empty-handed looms. Im very disappointed. I expected a medal today, he says. Jitu may have misread the wind towards the end of the competition. He is a great final shooter so had he made it, he would have done well for sure.I am a little concerned that our athletes may be getting overawed at the Olympic stage. The mental aspect is something we have to look at. Raninder did admit that thhere are some systemic flaws that might need to be addressed.ddddddddddddFor instance, several shooters bypass the federation to hire personal coaches to train with. The Target Olympic Podium (TOP) scheme gives funds directly to the athletes, leaving the federation with no input into their utilisation. For instance, first timers such as Ayonika Paul and Prakash Nanjappa have trained with their private coaches and not with those on the rolls of the federation.Raninder also wondered aloud if competing in two different events can end up taking a toll, though he did point out that several countries like China allow their shooters to do so. Jitu had earlier competed in the 10m as well where he finished eighth. As Indias top marksman in both the events, he had the first choice of spot but Raninder did concede that the scenario would be discussed internally. Of the 12 Indian shooters, only Gagan Narang, Chain Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Mairaj Ahmad Khan now remain in the field. ' ' '

He threw 84 pitches.I think any time you go through a rehab process, that last step, getting back to a major league level, you cant simulate in any way, Friedman said. It could be the left-handers last major league start before he returns to the minor leagues. Ryu could end up taking Urias spot on the active roster. With the time off, it just takes a little bit of time assessing if we think he needs one more rehab start or whether or not this is the last step of the journey, Friedman said of Ryu. MINNEAPOLIS -- Longtime Minnesota wrestling coach J Robinson was fired Wednesday, after the university said an investigation into an alleged drug ring within the program revealed he wasnt forthcoming to school officials and made unauthorized promises of amnesty to his athletes.Robinson coached the Gophers for 30 years and led the team to three national championships, developing a reputation as a hard-nosed, outspoken and occasionally combative figure on campus. His teams had as much success as any Gophers coach of his era, but he became embroiled in the drug scandal this spring when police investigated allegations that more than a dozen wrestlers sold and used the anti-anxiety drug Xanax.Police previously declined to file charges in the case, citing a lack of evidence. In a letter sent to Robinson on Wednesday, new athletic director Mark Coyle said Robinson directed his wrestlers to turn the drugs in to him and disposed of the pills. Coyle also said the coach disobeyed reasonable directives from me and university to share information regarding the drug activities within the team. You have not accepted responsibility or expressed remorse for your conduct, Coyle wrote to Robinson. As a result, I cannot trust you to refrain from such conduct in the future.Robinson signed a contract extension last summer that ran through 2020, paying him $146,000 annually. Coyle said at a news conference that the coach was fired for cause, meaning no settlement agreement was reached with Robinson and his representatives. Coyle declined to speculate about whether Robinson could have kept his job if he had fully cooperated with the investigation.Robinsons agent and attorney didnt respond to requests for comment from The Associated Press.I do not intend to address each inaccuracy and/or omission in the report because there are far too many, Robinson wrote Aug. 30 to the university, which made his letter public along with the 31-page summary of the investigation led by university attorney Brent Benrud. For now, suffice it to say that the report sacrifices accuracy to create a narrative to support a pre-determined outcome to find fault with me and exculpate the university and senior employees in the athletic department.Robinson said he didnt promise his wrestlers hed keep their identities confidential. He said he complied with university regulations and informed his superiors, including former interim athletic director Beth Goetz, of the drug issues within his team.He also devised a form of discipline for the wrestlers involved, demanding that they inform their parents of their actions, write an essay about the effects those actions had on themselves, their families and the university and requiring them to submit to drug testing and a chemical dependency assessment.Coyle granted that Robinson did inform his superiors of possible drug issues within his team, but the AD said the coach needed to do more.He did not fully cooperate with our investigation into the matter, Coyle said at the news conference. He did not meet with us for interviews properly, and when he did, he did not answer some of our most critical questions.Coyle, who placed Robinson on administrative leave on his first official day on the job on June 1, about a week after the allegations first surfaced, said he met with Robinson on several occasions to try to get him to offer details on the situation. The report is filled with excuses for the universitys failure to act and masks the lack of adequate policy guidance and support to assist coaches in addressing situations involving and helping student athletes with drug issues, Robinson wrote in his response.According to Benruds summary of the investigation, a wrestler who brought forward an ethics complaint to the university reported hearing some members of the team turned in to Robinson marijuana, Adderall and Oxycodone in addition to the Xanax, of which about 1,500 pills were produced to the coach.Assistant coach Brandon Eggum has been named interim head coach for the upcoming season.Wrestling coaches at power-conference schools often toil with their teams in relative anonymity, but not Robinson. He became a well-known figure for developing the program into one of the best in the nation and also for his outspoken and polarizing views. He has long been a critic of Title IX, the federal law enacted to provide equal opportunities for men and women at public schools. The school once investigated Robinson for forcing participants in his youth wrestling camp to write an anti-Title IX letter to elected officials. He also was investigated in 2005 after three high school athletes were treated at a hospital for heat exhaustion from a late-night workout at a hockey camp overseen by Robinson.Cheap MLB Jerseys Authentic . In the response filed Wednesday to the complaint by 30-year-old Alexander Bradley, attorneys say the former University of Florida player is invoking his Fifth Amendment right that protects people from incriminating themselves.PITTSBURGH -- When the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Sean Davis in the second round last spring, defensive coordinator Keith Butler reveled in the possibilities. Here was a 6-foot-1, 202-pound guy who could play both safety and cornerback depending on the situation, someone with the size and the speed to keep up with -- if not totally neutralize -- players like New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.Davis may very well develop into such a player, but hes not there yet.You would like to think we could put him on Gronk and say we got him, Butler said. I dont think anybody can do that.Particularly on the NFLs 30th-ranked pass defense, one that faces Gronkowski, Tom Brady and the rest of the NFLs most diverse offenses on Sunday when the Patriots (5-1) visit Heinz Field. Bradys lit up the Steelers for 24 touchdowns against just three interceptions in 10 career meetings with the Steelers (4-2), most of them against variations of the Steel Curtain that were far more imposing than the current iteration, one rife with inexperience, particularly in the secondary. The growing pains have been evident. Davis has seen his playing time fluctuate and didnt play one defensive snap in last weeks one-sided 30-15 loss to Miami . He may not get back in the lineup this weekend either. Cornerback Artie Burns, a first-round pick, is improving but still very much a work in progress. Special teams ace Rob Golden is in his first year as a starting safety and his main backup is Jordan Dangerfield, a former practice squad player.Throw in linebacker Ryan Shazier -- like Gronkowski a physical marvel -- and the balky knee thats kept him out of the lineup for a month plus a pass rush thats been more rumor than fact in Pittsburghs two losses (zero sacks) and the prospect of facing a dominant Brady seems like a mismatch. We need to play more than one defense against these guys, Butler said. Theyre very good. They can pick you apart if they can figure out what youre doing. Its finding the right looks to throw at Brady -- who has pretty much seen everything -- and the right people to put in the right places thats the problem. Then theres the issue of youthful exuberance. With so many fresh faces, the lure to try and go above and beyond while facing the NFLs top tight end and a Hall of Fame quarterback is only too real. Its tough sometimes, Shazier saaid.dddddddddddd Guys want to make plays. Youre playing against one of the best guys and you want to see how you relate and everything like that.Shazier sees it happen regularly to opposing defenses trying to figure out what to do with Steelers All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown.Guys come up with a game plan to stop AB and when youre not sound enough, he destroys you, Shazier said. Its the same with Gronkowski, who set a career high with 162 yards receiving last Sunday against Cincinnati. Having Shazier back may help. And the Steelers are at least a little bit bigger -- if not necessarily better -- than the group that allowed Brady and Gronkowski to hook up for three scores in New Englands 28-21 victory in the 2015 opener. Burns is 6-feet tall, as are cornerbacks Ross Cockrell and Justin Gilbert. While thats still considerably smaller than the 6-6, 265-pound Gronkowski or the 6-7, 248-pound Martellus Bennett, its a start.I think it goes back to being disruptive, said Cockrell, whos had moderate success this season against bigger receivers like Cincinnatis A.J. Green and Brandon Marshall of the New York Jets. Were going to be able to put our hands on some of these guys and disrupt them and disrupt their timing.Davis is hopeful to get in on the act. He understands why hes not atop the depth chart. On a team with lesser ambitions, maybe hed get to play through the mistakes. Not so on the AFC North leaders.I cant complain or mope, Davis said. Ive got to handle my (role). One that will continue its evolution on Sunday in a game that will be as much about mental and physical discipline as it is simple talent. If you abandon your job and help somebody out or try to be selfish and make a play when you really shouldnt, theyre going to capitalize on it, he said. When the plays come your way, youve got to makeem.Game notesShazier practiced Thursday and is hopeful he can play. would fight him again, with a good

After enduring what he describes as one of his worst years on the circuit, Rohan Bopanna is hopeful of bouncing back next season in the company of a new partner in Uruguays Pablo Cuevas. Bopanna finished 2016 without a single tournament win and his individual doubles ranking has plummeted to 28. Having split with Romanian Florin Mergea, his partner for a large part of the last two years, Bopanna is now counting on improved results with Cuevas, who has a singles ranking of 22 and has won a mens doubles Grand Slam previously - the 2008 French Open with Luis Horna.I could have surely done much better, Bopanna told ESPN in Bangalore, where he is on a short break. I am disappointed in the fact that I couldnt win a tournament this year though I made some finals. Changing partners constantly after Wimbledon doesnt really help. It was challenging, but something for me to learn from and keep moving forward.Florin (Mergea) sent me an email right after US Open that he would like to find a different partner, which I completely agree with. As an individual player if someone wants to make that change and look for something different, they have every right to do so. Hence I had to find a new partner and hence Pablo (Cuevas) came into the picture. He has a similar game to Florin, who served and stayed back. I am used to this kind of partnership, so I thought I would stick to a similar type of partnership and see if it helps me.Bopanna has also decided to make changes to his methods and approach in his quest to overcome the downward spiral in his recent performances. After playing on the ad-court (left side of the court) in recent years, he will switch over to operating from the deuce court (right side) next year. He has had success in previous partnerships with Mahesh Bhupathi and Daniel Nestor by operating from the deuce court and is gambling on a similar outcome by returning to the formula. The 36-year-old has also made changes to his training regime by experimenting at the fitness fight club over the last few days. Bopanna says one of his main goals for the remainder of his career is to win a mens doubles Grand Slam title, though he concedes it will be an uphill task on an increasingly competitive circuit. If you look at the Grand Slams for the past 3-4 years there hasnt been a team that has won consistently, he says. That clearly shows the field is getting stronger, many more singles players are playing doubles. So you have to work with that, hence me getting a singles player as partner might just help me.But despite all the tennis he has played this year, Bopanna does miss not being a part of the ATP World Tour Finals, where he has reached the mens doubles final twice, in 2012 and 2015.My main focus is to play the Masters series and doing well in the Grand Slams. The ATP tour Finals is going on this week and I will be wrong to say I am not missing it. Last year was a great experience as was 2012. So when I am watching on TV, I feel a little let down by myself, not being a part of it. So that is my goal for next year, to get back into the top eight teams.Rio pain One of Bopannas biggest disappointments this year was missing out on a medal at the Rio Olympics. Having lost in the first round of the mens doubles with Leander Paes, Bopanna and Sania Mirza reached the semifinals of the mixed doubles before going down to Rajeev Ram and Venus Williams after taking the first set. A day later, they were beaten in the bronze medal play-off by the Czech pair of Lucie Hradecka and Radek Stepanek. Bopanna admits that the memories of those two matches in Rio continue to haunt him.I think it is a high point and a very low point, he says. Sometimes its better to lose the first round than to come so close. When someone brings up the topic, I do feel really hurt. It would have made a big difference for the country to win a medal. As athletes we go out there to try and win a medal for India, so coming fourth was very hard to take.Looking at the overall picture we had a better chance in the semifinals match against Venus and Rajeev. In the bronze match it was very hard, sometimes you are reliving the moments from the earlier match. It was on the same court and less than 24 hours later. We gave it our best shot. Credit to Venus, who really stepped it up, and gave confidence to Rajeev to play his game also. After their run in Rio and previous success at events such as the Hopman cup and the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL), there have been murmurs of Bopanna and Mirza forging a partnership for the four Grand Slam tournaments next year. Bopanna, who played with different partners at each of the slams last year, says that while he would relish the opportunity to join forces with Mirza, he understands why the world number one would not want to split up her pairing with Croatias Ivan Dodig. They are a good team, they reached the final of the French Open, he says. You cant break up a team just like that. Everybody wants to play with someone who is playing really good tennis and Sania is playing her best tennis right now. If there is an opportunity to play mixed doubles together surely it will be a great chance. Mixed doubles is there are only four slams. Combined ranking is important too. My ranking is much lower, Ivan is higher, so obviously they will be seeded higher if they play together rather than if I team up with her.Although he will be 40 at the time, Bopanna hasnt given up hopes of playing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics provided he can stay fit and healthy. In the immediate future though, he is keen to get some down time in before the third season of the IPTL begins at the end of the month. Having missed the Davis Cup World Group play off tie against Spain in Delhi with an injury in September, Bopanna is keen to get back in the mix when the Indian team assembles for their next tie in February against New Zealand in Pune.If I am fit, I will be 100% available, he insists. I am looking forward to the tie, it is on hard courts. I read they want to have three singles players in the squad, which leaves place for only one doubles specialist. So we will have to wait and see.Cheap NFL Jerseys Online .C. at the helm of the top team in the Eastern Conference. His tenure as the GM in Vancouver was all too brief. After the formidable Golovkin unloaded a rapid succession of powerful punches in the fifth round, the Brooks corner threw in the towel. The last round he couldnt breathe or move, Golovkin said. The 30-year-old Brook was taken to a hospital from O2 Arena in London for his eye to be assessed.I am gutted because there was much, much more to come from me, Brook said before leaving the ring. I was just getting started but I was seeing five of them out there, I think I have bust an eye socket. The 34-year-old Golovkin was full of praise for Brook but never felt his WBA, WBC and IBF middleweight belts were under threat.I know my style, I respect him, hes good but not so strong, Brook said. After initially looking unsteady and anxious, Brook grew in confidence landing left hooks on Golovkin and unsettling him with three-punch combinations in the second round.I expected him to be a bigger puncher, Brook said. In the second round he broke my eye socket but I was tricking him, I was frustrating him. I was starting to settle into it but when you see three, four, five of them its difficult.I hurt him. When youre in the fight you can see, his legs buckled a little .... I would fight him again, with a good eye.Brooks trainer, Dominic Ingle, was jeered by the capacity arena crowd after throwing in the towel. But the swelling on a cut by Brooks right eye showed he couldnt continue. He was tiring as a resilient Golovkin was showing he could not be worn down. You cant be fighting a guy like Golovkin when you cant even focus on the guy, promote Eddie Hearn said, referring to Brooks eye injury.
