FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- It appears Nick Mangold will have to sit this one out.The New York Jets center is doubtful to play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns because of a sprained ankle.Mangold has missed just four games in his 11-year career, including one in each of the last two seasons. His right ankle was heavily taped on Thursday, and he didnt practice all week.Wesley Johnson would likely replace Mangold, as he did after the center was injured early in the first quarter of New Yorks 24-16 win over Baltimore last Sunday.Obviously, its huge shoes to fill, Johnson said Friday. Ive just got to go out there and try to play my game, and make sure all five of us (linemen) play well, and we play well as an offense and win.The Jets could be down another starter on Sunday with left tackle Ryan Clady questionable because of an ailing shoulder. He has been playing through the injury for a few weeks but will likely be a game-time decision for coach Todd Bowles.Bowles said Ben Ijalana would slide over from right tackle to left tackle if Clady cant go. With Brent Qvale doubtful with a neck injury, the Jets are also considering activating Breno Giacomini from the reserve-physically unable to perform list to play right tackle.Giacomini missed all of training camp with a back injury and returned to practice last week after missing the first six games, per NFL rules for players on reserve-PUP. Giacomini, who started every game the last two seasons for the Jets, recently said he felt ready to play.We havent made a decision on it, Bowles said. If (Qvale) cant play, we have to wait and see how Clady is feeling.Wide receiver Devin Smith is also on reserve-PUP and close to returning. He has been out since December, when he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.Hes been running around pretty good, Bowles said.Defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson is questionable with a sore ankle that kept him out of last weeks game. He was limited Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. Bowles said he will be a game-time decision.Linebackers Darron Lee (ankle) and Bruce Carter (quadriceps) have already been ruled out for the game. Cornerback Buster Skrine (knee) and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins (ankle) are doubtful. The Jets would use a combination of Marcus Williams and Darryl Roberts at cornerback opposite Darrelle Revis with Skrine unlikely to play. With Ryan Fitzpatrick back as the starting quarterback after being benched and Geno Smith out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL, the focus turned to the backups.Bryce Petty, a fourth-rounder last year, has been practicing the last two weeks after injuring his shoulder in the preseason. Christian Hackenberg, a second-rounder this year, is also on the roster and has gotten a lot of snaps during the last few months. But Bowles refused to announce who the No. 2 quarterback -- possibly a few errant tosses by Fitzpatrick away from playing -- would be on Sunday. Its a matter of me just telling the coaches at this point, Bowles said, before adding: Both of them are ready to play.---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and AP NFL Twitter feed: www.twitter.com/AP-NFLNike Sb Clearance Sale . -- Gus Malzahn finally had his day in Fayetteville. JOHNS, N.History-making coach Chan Yuen-ting says it will be her honor to match wits with World Cup-winning coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.Their first meeting is scheduled for Feb. 22 in the Asian Champions League. It will be in Guangzhou, the southern China city just 75 miles (120 kilometers) from Hong Kong, in front of 40,000 fans, but expected to draw eyes from all over the world.Chan and her Eastern side from Hong Kong will make their league debut against Scolari and his powerhouse Guangzhou Evergrande, a two-time league champion.I am happy to meet Scolari, Chan said. The Asian Champions League is a valuable opportunity for us to learn from opponents like Guangzhou and improve ourselves. The response is typical Chan. She has been grounded and gracious since she was appointed coach of Eastern a year ago, even as her profile, and Easterns, has magnified. In April, she led Eastern to its first Hong Kong Premier League title in two decades, with a game to spare. That made her the first female to coach a professional mens team to a topflight title. She was named Hong Kong coach of the year and, this month, Asian female coach of the year. Eastern was currently second in the premier league.Hong Kong received an automatic entry into the Asian Champions League for the first time, and Eastern drew a tough group: Guangzhou Evergrande, another two-time champ in Suwon Bluewings, and either Urawa Reds, another former champ, or Kawasaki Frontale. We will try very hard to show our quality, Chan said. From the beginning, we expected this. Every game will be very tough for us. We just need to improve and prepare for the games as well as we can.Moya Dodd, vice-president of the Asian Football Confederation and a former Australia womens player, believes Scolari has the most to lose from the matcchup with Chan.ddddddddddddender aside, this is a game between one of club footballs rising powers, and a team that is less resourced and less fancied, Dodd said. On the coaches bench you have a rising star taking on one of footballs old masters, a World Cup winner, no less. Its a great story for the fans, and all the pressure will be on Scolari.Dodd said this was an opportunity for a female coach to, perhaps, break through what she calls the grass ceiling. The closer you get to the field, the harder it is for a woman, she said. Its a positive sign that growing up in the womens game can provide the experience and learning to launch a coaching career in any part of the game, including the Champions League.Chan graduated from a two-year AFC future coaches program in 2012, worked as a data analyst at Hong Kong Pegasus club, was promoted to the managerial staff, and helped the clubs under-18s to win three trophies. She became assistant coach at Southern District, then was hired by Eastern a year ago, at age 27.Chan has a huge following here in Hong Kong, said Mark Sutcliffe, the CEO of the Hong Kong Football Association. She is an inspiring fhttp://www.meinweisserschaeferhund.com/member.phpigure ... and the accolades keep pouring in. She seems to be taking it all in her stride and remains humble and grounded.Chan just wants to get on with it.I have received some awards and attention from the world, she said. However, it is not important what people say, I just want to stay humble and work hard and learn to be a good coach for my club.I hope that my football story will encourage women coaches to go for their dream, but I believe that I am not representing anyone. I just need to do my job. ' ' '
